[Date: 05/12/2025]
The Health Technology Assessment Network of the Americas (RedETSA) celebrates today the incorporation of the Center for Health Technology Assessment, Access and Innovation (CETSAI), belonging to the renowned ISALUD University of Argentina, as a new node in the Network. With this addition, RedETSA strengthens its collaborative network, integrating an academic and research institution with a solid track record in health technology assessment.
One of the major challenges for health systems in achieving universal health coverage is the pursuit of equity, quality of care, and efficiency, and health technologies play an essential role in this. As part of its direct technical cooperation, PAHO supports Member States in strengthening regulatory frameworks and human resources, generating evidence, disseminating information, and promoting network collaboration through the Health Technology Assessment Network of the Americas (RedETSA), for which PAHO serves as the secretariat.
ISALUD University, with origins in the ISALUD Foundation of 1991, has consolidated itself as an accredited academic institution, committed to technological and applied research, the extension and the development of professionals who promote equity, innovation and sustainable development in health and society.
Within this framework, CETSAI operates as a specialized center for training, research, evaluation, and the design of strategies for access to health technologies. Since 2013, CETSAI has been involved in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) projects and has actively collaborated with the National Commission for Health Technology Assessment and Clinical Excellence (CONETEC), establishing itself as a key hub for innovative knowledge in Argentina and the region.
Joining RedETSA represents a fundamental opportunity for CETSAI to strengthen collaboration and knowledge exchange with the main HTA organizations in America, facilitating the exchange of good practices, technical innovation and methodological harmonization.
RedETSA welcomes CETSAI, anticipating a fruitful collaboration that will undoubtedly enrich the assessment of health technologies in the Region of the Americas.
