Health Technology Assessment (HTA) aims to inform decision-making to promote equitable, efficient, and high-quality health systems. The evaluation of in vitro diagnostic tests plays a crucial role in public health, and access to this type of technology is essential to ensure accurate diagnoses, appropriate treatments, and continuous monitoring of patient health.
The webinar addressed current Health Technology Assessment methods for diagnostics, challenges in applying these methods to in vitro diagnostics, perspectives from international organizations, the presentation of a value framework for diagnostic technologies in Latin America, and case studies from HTA agencies evaluating in vitro diagnostic tests.
