Context
Health Technology Assessment (HTA) is a multidisciplinary process that uses explicit methods to determine the value of a health technology at different points in its life cycle. Its purpose is to inform decision-making to promote equitable, efficient and high-quality health systems. Although its greatest development focused on informing the incorporation of health technologies at national levels, more recently, and due to the availability of new technologies at the institutional level, the use of HTA to support decision making in hospitals has advanced. Hospital HTAs analyze whether or not the evaluated technologies provide a benefit for the specific population served at the institution and determine the organizational impact of the investment or disinvestment analyzed.
About the webinar
The objective of this virtual seminar is to present some experiences of selected institutions in the region that have adopted hospital STD as a tool in decision-making at the institutional level.
