“Incorporation of ISSS into RedETSA”

RedETSA would like to welcome its new member InSalvadoran Social Security Institute (ISSS).
On October 7, 2016, to conclude the VIII Meeting of RedETSA, Ana Argueta and Ernesto Chavez made a presentation on the incorporation of the Salvadoran Social Security Institute (ISSS) into RedETSA. The Institute provides health services and economic benefits and also manages economic benefits and health care for pensioners.
The Institute works mainly with drug evaluation, but they also have a new area of medical devices. The studies they have now are on high-cost drugs that are no longer included in demand. The three main areas are: drugs and clinical therapeutics, drug information center and pharmacovigilance, and drug utilization studies. In relation to medical devices, they work on product selection, technological surveillance, and economic evaluations.
We are confident that the inclusion of ISSS will strengthen the RedETSA network and its HTA activities in the region.
