Next event: XV RedETSA Meeting – November 6-8 in the Dominican Republic
October 15, 2024
The Pan American Health Organization and the Health Technology Assessment Network of the Americas (RedETSA) are pleased to invite you to a new edition of the RedETSA Webinar Program: “Promoting Equity in Health Technology Assessment” to be held on Friday the 21st, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM (EDT/UTC-4). The event will be conducted in Spanish and English, with simultaneous interpretation available in Spanish and English.
Health Technology Assessment aims to inform decisions to promote an equitable, efficient, and high-quality health system, using up-to-date methods and solid evidence. Equity in access to technologies is crucial, especially in low- and middle-income countries, such as many in the Americas. Ensuring that all people, regardless of their circumstances, can equally access and benefit from technological innovations in health is essential to promoting a more equitable and efficient health system.
The webinar will discuss how equity can be integrated into the HTA process and studies at different stages and perspectives. Santiago Hasdeu of RedARETS will present a survey on Equity in HTA conducted among RedETSA members and existing Equity questionnaires. Juan Yanguela of NICE International will present NICE's experience, specifically how it has used the distributional cost-effectiveness method to address this issue.
