Organization of the meeting
The VII Meeting of the Health Technology Assessment Network of the Americas (RedETSA) took place in Santiago, Chile, on September 10 and 11, 2015. On the first day, there was an open session for members outside the Network, dedicated to discussing the implications of using cost-effectiveness thresholds in decision-making regarding the incorporation of health technologies. On the second day, there was an exclusive session for members where the progress of the Network, its institutions, topics of interest, and future projects were discussed.
Central axis and topics discussed
The central focus of the agenda was the use of Health Technology Assessment and Economic Evaluation. During the meeting, representatives of the institutions that make up the Network, and invited experts, shared their experience on topics such as the use of cost-effectiveness thresholds in the region.
Closed meeting of RedETSA members
On the second day of the meeting (September 11), the closing session of the members' meeting was held. PAHO updated the activities carried out by the Network's secretariat since the last meeting. It mentioned the composition of the Network up to that point (26 members, from 14 countries and PAHO as Secretariat). It also referred to the progress of the ADVANCE-HTA project, detailed the progress on the RedETSA website and reviewed the Webinar program. Finally, the work plan and priorities for 2016 were discussed.
