- Issue: The transferability methodology of Economic Availability (AE) is presented as a possibility to inform the cost-effectiveness of a health alternative in a shorter time for decision makers. Even more so when it is considered that countries have limited economic resources to carry out research and the existing press to request this type of information from the authorities. It should be noted that the development of a “new” study continues to be the gold standard to provide valid evidence of the cost-effectiveness of a health intervention that you want to implement. However, there are cases in which there is sufficient evidence available of the cost-effectiveness of technologies that have already been endorsed by several countries with similar results. In these cases, it is recommended to use the AE transferability methodology, so that decision makers can base themselves on solid evidence and in a short period of time.
