INAHTA is a non-profit organization that has deep roots in the international HTA community stretching back to 1993 when the Network was founded. INAHTA is organized under four value networks which regroup member agency assessment programs, knowledge transfer, education and training, as well as agency development and capacity building. Today, INAHTA provides its members with opportunities to learn from each other by exchanging knowledge and experience, and to contribute to the strategic objectives of the network. The network is affiliated with 55 HTA agencies that support health system decision making that affects over 1 billion people in 32 countries around the globe.
RedETSA is a nonprofit network formed by ministries of health, regulatory authorities and health technology assessment agencies. Launched in 2011, RedETSA regroups 14 countries represented by 29 institutions, aiming to strengthen and promote HTA in the Americas, enabling the exchange of information, to support decision-making on the regulation, incorporation, use, and replacement of such technologies. RedETSA’s objectives are aimed at improving the quality of patient care, safety and the rational use of technologies, as well as contribute to the sustainability of health systems while ensuring equity in access.
August 2016 marked the signature of a MoU between INAHTA and RedETSA. Both parties share common goals towards the strengthening of Health Technology Assessment (HTA).
Henceforth, INAHTA and RedETSA have agreed to work collaboratively on:
- Enhancing dissemination of knowledge about the work of each Party;
- Strengthening the links between INAHTA and RedETSA by providing recognition to each other’s work on their respective websites;
- Working towards the joint development of materials aimed at the reduction of duplication of work and efforts;
- Cooperating on other projects aimed at achieving their respective missions.
The parties acknowledge each other’s engagement in HTA, and see the great advantage and benefit in combining their efforts to pursue shared aims.
